The white blouse is a piece that many of us own in some shape or form – whether it’s a simple work style blouse, or a more statement ruffle design, we are pretty much all familiar with it’s existence. It’s considered to be one of the basics – it’s perfect for layering, tucking in, and even for sleeping in when we are lacking in clean pyjamas. I have many white blouses in my collection, and they are pieces I reach for all year round…
I recently invested in this one by a brand I discovered on Instagram called LOÉIL – I instantly headed straight to their website to check out more of their designs, before purchasing this dream top! They have some really beautiful/minimal pieces that have a playful edge to them – basically everything I look for in a brand. The current collection features lots of masculine/tailored pieces that have a high fashion feel to them – ideal candidates for elevating a simple pair of high waist jeans! It’s the type of blouse that I’d typically pick up for the summer months, but I actually love how it looks with a pair of lace up brown boots and a classic wool coat thrown over the top. It’s one of those effortless pieces that does all the talking for you – the sweetheart neckline teamed with a low bun is giving me all the Pride And Prejudice vibes. I have been rewatching lots of my favourite films lately and Keira Knightley is my current hair and make-up inspiration of choice. I’ve reverted back to tying my hair in a lower bun again and it’s funny how a simple change in hairstyle can alter the way you view your wardrobe!
I can see myself wearing this top a lot over Christmas time too – I’m picturing it with chunky gold earrings, a red lip, and some statement high waist trousers. Maybe some check print ones with either some suede pointed boots or some simple block heels – It really will match with so much that I already own. I’d definitely recommend checking LOÉIL out if you’re seeking some new inspiration, their website is beautifully edited and very visually pleasing to shop around! Oh, and it’s worth mentioning that their pieces are ethically manufactured too. Something which I’m always pleased to read on a website full of clothing that appeals to my personal style – I’m a lot happier to pay the price tag if I know that the clothing has been created responsibly. It’s definitely an aspect of the fashion industry I’m becoming more and more conscious of, but not one that we can always avoid when it comes to budget and accessibility. Anyway, that might be a subject for a whole other blog post! I hope you like this outfit as much as I do, and I hope you’re all having a wonderful week so far…
