I’d like to think that if you guys have learnt anything about me over the years, it might be that I have an unhealthy obsessions with coats. Outerwear if you will – it tends to be all I think about at this time of year!
There’s just something about throwing on a great coat that makes you feel like you can take on the world. It doesn’t matter what kind of day you’re having – a great statement coat just gives off this illusion that you have your shit together. In the same way that sunglasses make everyone look fancy and cool when in reality they might be hungover or trying to avoid someone they don’t want to bump into…
With this in mind, I thought I’d curate an edit of all the best statement coats I can find on the internet this season – some might call this God’s work, but to me it’s just a fun afternoon…
I should probably start by telling you about this glorious oversized quilted coat by Baum und Pferdgarten – a brand that I will forever be trying to pronounce correctly (and spell for that matter). I love this coat because it’s an interesting/more timeless take on the puffer style coats/jackets that are always everywhere at this time of year. It’s got the warmth and cosiness of a quilted jacket but with the added contrast of the checked detail that really makes it a statement piece! If the puffer style isn’t really your thing but you love the checked print, fret not, it also comes in this classic trench style!
Finding the perfect winter coat can be a bit of a minefield when there’s so much choice on offer, but hopefully the below edit is able to give you a little helping hand…

I truly admire your sense of style! I don’t read that many blogs anymore but this is the one I always turn to when in need of some inspiration. This week you actually inspired me to cut my hair! I (too?) have got naturally curly hair and oh how nicely it flows now that it’s shorter. And, with my new hair and all, I just couldn’t go straight home so I stopped by at the local Red Cross charity shop and guess what I found?! The perfect fall blazer, with the perfect fishbone pattern and perfect shades of ruby, green, blue and brown. And it cost me only 4 euros! I finally spotted the well-hidden label and that made me even happier: made in U.S.A. by the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union. This piece of clothing I’ll certainly cherish! Thank you for all the inspiration! Mia, Finland
Thank you so much! This was such a sweet message to wake up to – really means a lot that anyone would take the time to read my posts on here. So happy to hear you love your new haircut! Curly hair really does thrive when you cut a few inches off – so much easier! And what an amazing charity shop find, sounds like a dreamy day indeed 🙂
Sending lots of love to you xxx
