Our minds usually wander to satin, sequins, and all things a bit extra when it comes to the festive season. I’m partial to all of that stuff when the mood strikes, but sometimes it can feel a bit full on, and I just fancy something a little more on the subtle side. For me, loafers will forever remind me of Christmas! Something about that classic gold bar and structured feel to them makes me feel like a smart gentleman about to decant some whiskey into some crystal glasses…
I bought these Gucci ones a while back with a voucher I was kindly sent, and I’m so glad that I decided to invest – they really do some of the best loafers out there, and I can wear them without socks and they don’t rub at all. I love how they look with these longline Mango trousers for a leg lengthening affect, and I really feel as though they have the power to dress an outfit up just as much as a simple heel. I like to add some chunky gold jewellery to match with the gold detail on the front of the loafers. It just ties everything together nicely and makes it more evening appropriate if that’s the direction you want to head in…
The cord blazer is also a Mango piece that I picked up earlier this year in a large size – I wanted to wear it buttoned up as a top over tailored trousers for the ultimate power look. Ran out of clean tops this festive season? Fear not, the blazer has your back. This is the kind of look you could wear to the office or to ‘after work drinks’ – it’s versatile, and all of the pieces work as wardrobe staples individually. You’ll never get tired of a cord blazer and a great pair of black trousers – the outfit possibilities are pretty endless!
I’ve always been a fan of vintage bags, but this year I’ve been really drawn to this classic handbag shape. There’s just something about it that feels very Céline inspired, and I’m always down for that. It feels like something that Audrey Hepburn might have carried around with her, and I love that it matches with the blazer and adds an extra brown tones element to the look. I picked this one up on Etsy from a vintage seller and it was absolute steal – just goes to show that you really don’t have to spend a lot to have a bag that feels designer. I’d wholeheartedly recommend places like Etsy, Ebay and Vestiaire Collective if you’re looking for that special vintage piece.
The pièce de résistance? A cream satin scrunchie of course. I was kindly sent this by the wonderful Cloud Hunter, and I love it so much that I’ve ordered a couple more for when I inevitably destroy this one. I’ve even been sleeping in it and I’ve had way less hair breakage and general frizz – they are also an eco friendly/ethical business which makes me really happy to support all that they create…

I love your outfit! I’ve bought three pairs of loafers this year and could definitely live in them – they’re so comfy but can really dress an outfit up.
