You may have noticed that I absolutely love a statement blouse – an interesting neckline, exaggerated sleeves, bold prints. It’s everything I look for when I’m investing in a blouse that will elevate a look or instantly transform a pair of high waist jeans. I’m not the best at ‘fully dressing up’ – it’s just not in my nature. For instance, if I’m wearing a long satin dress, it’s likely that I’ll also be wearing a pair of chunky boots or an oversized blazer thrown over the top…
I truly think if you find the right statement blouse for your personal style, it has the power to save you for many ‘last minute events’ and festive seasons to come! I picked up this silk beauty from Les Coyotes de Paris a couple of months ago, and it instantly takes a pair of indigo denim jeans into a much dressier category. It’s basically so distracting that nobody will question what’s going on beneath it – it’s the perfect crime for those who dread a fancy dress code.
I love the fact it’s a gingham print too! It feels like something that I’ll pull out of my wardrobe time and time again – each time styling it a little differently. For instance, I think it would look amazing with some black wide leg trousers or a black midi skirt. Teamed with lots of gold jewellery, it’s definitely one of those pieces that makes me feel as though I should be sitting under the Christmas tree…
As much as I kind find Christmas a bit of a strange time – I do love the magic that strikes in-between the stressful times and endless social activity. There’s something quite nice about taking some extra time to ‘dress up’ and and make yourself feel a bit festive. It’s the time of year where we get to be bold, and vibrant, and equal measures tacky. There’s a sort of childlike fun to be found amongst all of that…

I completely agree with your love for statement blouses! You have such a beautiful collection, and I like how you can style them up or down and still look chic and put together. This gingham one is beautiful. I love the neckline and large buttons down the front!
I’ve actually been eyeing a silky, rose gold/ivory one with a floral pattern from Free People and this post has secured my need to have it in my wardrobe!

Such a gorgeous blouse! I’ve been on the hunt for more statement pieces recently – think I’m going to have to have a good charity shop hunt soon! xx
