I bought this cord hat during the peak summertime of this year – a strange time to buy cord, but the model on the website was wearing it with summer looks in mind. I remember just falling in love with it and buying it straight away, something which never happens with hats for me. I have a lot of hair and a very specific haircut, so some hats can make me feel a bit silly, or just completely overwhelm an outfit…
I’m really glad I decided to invest in this one because it’s been something I’ve worn a lot, and will no doubt continue to style in many different ways. It’s got such a classic autumn feel to it, but equally looks great on the beach with a bikini and a linen cover up. It’s by the Australian brand Albus Lumen who I had never heard of before this hat, but they make some really dreamy neutral pieces.
I don’t think this specific hat is still available as far as I can see online, but I’ll definitely link lots of similar options below for you. I think accessories make such a huge difference to the mood of an outfit at this time of year. It’s a great way to jazz up a really casual/cosy look and make it feel more chic and interesting…
I really like the structure of this hat because it’s somewhere in-between a floppy hat and a bucket hat which makes it a more wearable version of both styles as far as I’m concerned! It’s statement but it’s also subtle if that makes sense? I never like to feel as though I’m wearing an accessory that I’m overly conscious of, so this hat feels like my happy place. I’m normally a beret or a beanie person at this time of year, so it’s nice to have another option that feels completely different from either of those styles. It makes me feel like a character from a book, and I’m always okay with that…
