I shot this outfit a couple of weeks back and I just love the colour combination so much – I felt like a human scoop of pistachio ice cream, in the best possible way…
Pistachio is one of those colours that’s doing the rounds over on Instagram at the moment – it’s such a beautiful shade, and I really love how well it goes with peachy/tan tones. There’s something very vintage inspired about those two colours together, but it equally feels very modern and chic. I recently saw an street style image of a girl wearing some tailored trousers in a muted pistachio colour, she then had an oversized beige blazer worn on top – I can’t get it out of my head, so now I’m on the hunt for the perfect pair of pistachio pants…
Now there’s a line I never thought I’d be typing on here.
If you like the trend but you’re not ready to fully commit and go all out – a cardigan is always a great place to start. This beauty was gifted via the lovely people over at Arket, and I’m really pleased to have a ‘spring cardigan option’ in my wardrobe. I tend to wear a lot of cream/neutral tones when the weather heats up, so having something colourful to throw over the top is always a nice touch…
I’m really excited about this And Other Stories dress too – I wasn’t sure how it would fit when I saw it online, but it fits like a fancy glove, and goes so well with these Superga X Alexa Chung shoes from last year. They are such a comfortable shoe for roaming around in, I always take them when I’m travelling but want to feel ‘cool’ at the same time. Plus, they finish off this ‘ice cream inspired’ look pretty perfectly…
I feel as though this is the type of look that I could wear to Wimbledon and fit right in – there’s something about ‘tennis inspired fashion’ that I find very appealing. Despite being about as sporty as a pine cone, I have fond memories of those American Apparel tennis skirts that I used to team with vintage Lacoste polo tops back in my university days. I’d then wear tights, pointed boots, and a big faux fur coat over the top – I was going through a Margot Tenenbaum phase and I’m still unapologetic about it…
Anyway, less of the yesteryear flashbacks – I really hope you enjoyed this little pistachio themed post, and I’d love to hear how you’d style the new season shade in the comments below…
Lets talk all things Pistachio whilst I just grow increasingly hungry 🙂
