A knitted tank top probably sounds like something your old history teacher wore, but bare with me here. This little navy tank was gifted to me when I first started blogging, it was one of the first clothing pieces that I was kindly sent, and I’ve kept it in my collection ever since. Despite it being of the knitted variety, it’s something I only dig out during the warmer months. I’ve worn in plenty of times with high waist jeans and a utility jacket thrown over the top for a really easy daytime look. It’s perfect if you feel like showing a little more skin, whilst keeping you snug at the same time…

I went up to London not long ago and was lucky enough to catch up with some of my favourite blogger babes – Ropes Of Holland was one of them, and she had on a little knitted tank with a shirt underneath. It just looked effortlessly cool, and I remember thinking that they were both pieces I already owned, but hadn’t even thought to put them together. I’m forever thankful to be surrounded by such beautifully dressed people, it gives me endless inspiration, and inspires me to get out of my comfort zone. Also, if you haven’t checked out Lindsey’s blog then definitely do, she’s a little ray of sunshine, and also does an amazing series over on her YouTube called The Reset Series. It’s to do with mental health, dealing with anxiety, and generally just a safe space for an important discussion to remain open…

Long story short, don’t turn your nose up at a knitted tank top if you haven’t tried one before – particularly if you’re in for a British summer. They look great with nothing underneath and lots of layered necklaces – navy and black are safe options because they match with everything and feel timeless. Having said that, I have a great knitted cami from Mango last year that I can’t wait to pull out again – it’s a really retro/yellow stripe number, and I love wearing it on the beach with clashing bikini bottoms.

Speaking of holidays, we finally booked our accommodation for Primavera festival last weekend, and now I’m really starting to feel excited. I’ve never been to Barcelona before, and we have decided to stay for a bit longer either side of the festival so that we can do some exploring. I know a lot of people like to stay close to the festival, but we settled on the Gothic Quarter so that we can travel between the two locations, and have somewhere nice to come back to in evenings. Arctic Monkeys will be there, and JANE BIRKIN will be there – I can’t wait to feel warm again, and just have a week of good music and lots of tapas…

I’m planning on taking lots of film with me – I got so much for Christmas and it’s just been untouched because of the gloomy Manchester weather. It doesn’t always inspire me to pull out the film camera (I just have a little Olympus point and shoot), I like it when film images have interesting light, as oppose to just being flat and dull. Anyway, this turned out to be a little ramble of a post, but I hope you enjoyed in nonetheless. Sometimes it’s nice just to have a little catch up and let you know where I’m at on the other side of the blog. I hope you’re all having a wonderful week, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on the knitted tank top below. I have a feeling it’s one of those marmite fashion pieces…

Hi Alice, I want to ask you what is your opinion on the Joseph´s sandals that you wear in this post – do you like them and are they comfortable, makes any blisters? thanks for your advice, I´m thinking that maybe would be good summer staple for me, bye

Hey, they are really comfortable and I’m glad I invested! They took a couple of wears to soften the leather up, but I wear them weekly now xx
